History

Founded in 1981 and working actively since 1984 in the city of Caraúbas the AFICEL (A. Ferreira Industry Trade and Export LTDA), began its activities based on the manual cutting process, always focused on the export of its products and operating from a workforce of 50 employees and with a demand of 400 tonnes per year, increasing after 5 years of service, for 2,500 tons/year, with more than 350 employees. 

Exports are directed mainly to the U.S. and Canada, who come to stay with just over 80 per cent of total exports. In these countries the nut is consumed primarily as an aperitif, especially in the United States. In Brazil, there are the states of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro as the main consumers. 

Besides the various types almonds exported annually produce 3,000 tons of oil LCNC, important component of automotive paint industry. 

The goal of AFICEL has always been to provide a good service, focused on working for the implementation and maintenance of quality management that is based on ISO 9001/2000 and the criteria of HACCP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points - Security food (NBR-14900). Guided the quality of its products and the workforce of those who made this company one of the largest exporters of the State of Rio Grande do Norte.
